Our campground is located in the coastal redwoods region in little town of Klamath, California. In the middle between Prairie Creek Park, Del Norte Park and 25 minutes away from the entrance of Jedediah Smith Park. Over the last few years, we had couples calling us saying that they would like to get married and enjoy a peaceful reception in the forest, and we now have had a few of those beautiful moments take place here at the campground.

But for who is a wedding ceremony and/or reception at the Mystic Forest Campground?

Simple, Earthy Wedding Setting

First, it’s important to understand that we are a campground. Our campground is 50 acres and has several nice spots in the forest that can work for a beautiful, simple wedding.

We do not have a nice, grand reception hall like many of the great wedding venues in California. What we have is a lovely, mystical forest. There’s no roof above you, though you can have event tents in case it rains (weddings in April and May may get some rain but from June to early September there is usually just a few showers).

Some examples. We had a couple that had their reception around tent sites #8 and 10. We have a big tree there that was hit by a lightning and it can make for a nice setting. We had another couple get married on the hill, beyond tent site #20 and have their nice family reception in tent site #18.

Just like a blank canvas, you are welcome to bring your ideas to create the setting you love.

The above reception was done around tent sites #8 and #10 where we have the big redwood tree.
Around the Black Bear cabin could also be a nice option for the reception and/or ceremony.

Price

We charge only $300 for you to be able to have your unique moment at our campground. We are happy to host such moments, it’s been a dream of ours for over a decade to be able to provide a lovely place for couples to get married.

What we offer

  • A forested spot or spots for you to have your wedding ceremony and/or reception.
  • We have about 40 brown metal chairs that we can bring out for you.
  • We also have several picnic tables we can move to create a nice long setting for the reception.
  • Restrooms and all other amenities we have around the campground (game room, mini golf, playground and trail).
  • There is no power in the forest, so if you want to decorate with lights you will need to bring a big portable battery.
  • And that’s about it! 🙂 Very, very simple.

Rules

We’re not asking too much but since we’re a peaceful, family-focused campground, we would like you to take the following points into consideration before booking:

  • Quiet time is 10pm.
  • If you are playing recorded music during reception, let’s keep it as a gentle background music so as to respect other campers.
  • The mystical forest that hosted you would like to be as clean or cleaner as before the beautiful event.
